This page will give you some more information about our fabrics
Cotton is a fantastic fabric, it doesn't stretch, it's very strong & if you look after it correctly it is extremely durable & will last for years.
The pricing of our shirts is determined by the quality of the fabrics.
Two ply fabrics are more expensive than single yarn fabrics, and things that are more complex, like herringbone weave, is more expensive than a plain fabric.
The finer the thread is, the higher the shirt price is.
When you hover over each fabric on the site you will see the specifications of that fabric.
The first number - e.g. E1048, is the fabric number which helps you tell us which fabric you want your shirt made from.
There is also the weight per square metre. e.g. 123 gr.m2. The higher the weight the heavier the fabric.
Also on there is the construction of the shirt, e.g. 100/2 - 100/2. The first group of numbers corresponds to the thread in warp, the second group corresponds to the weft. '100' means that 100 000 metres of thread have been made from only one kg of cotton. The second number '/2' means that it is a two folded thread.
The higher the first number is, the finer the fabrics are.
Weaving Explained
Yarn is the name for the twisted threads of a fabric. 2 fold is the twisting together of 2 single threads. Folding the yarn makes the fabric stronger and more durable.
The Warp yarn are those that lie in the direction of a fabric whilst it is being woven
The Weft yarn are those that are woven between the warp yarns across the width of the fabric.
