How can you charge far less for your bespoke clothing than many of your competitors?
Well, the whole company was set up with the proviso of providing tailor made elegance at affordable prices, so we keep our overheads as low as possible to make sure that you can have the finest English made clothing for very competitive prices without compromising on quality. We don’t have an expensive shop or offices and don’t spend money on lots of flash things that we don’t need so you get the finest possible tailored clothing for the best possible price.
Where are you clothes made?
All of our suits, country clothing, trousers, jackets etc. are all made right here in England and carry the much coveted Made in England label. This includes our ready to wear range too, so all of your 'off the peg' trousers and breeks are all Made in England.
Our own label jumpers are all Made in Scotland, Glenbrae are made in the UK and John Smedley is all made in England.
Our English made bespoke shirts for both men and ladies are just that, Made in England. They are hand made right here in England from the finest 100% cotton and are the finest bespoke shirts in the region.
Our Wilfred Haridge range of bespoke shirts are all handmade in the UK and our Barrington Ayre range of shirts are made in France, and we are looking at having many of our shirts made right here in Gloucestershire, England shortly.
How far does your travelling tailor service stretch?
Our main area as 'The Cotswolds' Visiting Tailor' is The Cotswolds', Gloucestershire and the South West, however we have regular visiting days in London, at least once every 2 weeks, we also do regular trips to Dorset, Yorkshire, Herefordshire and many other places across the UK so please do get in contact on 0845 300 9014 to see when we are next in your area. We have also made trips to South Africa and Nigeria to make clothes for people so we will travel pretty much anywhere (within reason!)
Can we come and see you at all?
Absolutely! If you are around Cirencester and fancy popping in to see us please do get in touch. We have a showroom at 11-17 Market Place in the middle of Cirencester where we have all of our fabrics, examples of the clothes that we made and a range of our ready to wear clothing.
We can also, and often do, visit people in local pubs, hotels and many other places so do please give us a call 0845 300 9014 and get in touch.
How long does a suit take to make
Our suits take between 8 - 12 weeks to make including a fitting and this takes into account organise a time to come back and see you at a convenient time. We can get your clothing made quicker if you are desperate so again, please do get in contact with us to discuss your needs 0845 300 9014.
Do your prices include VAT?
Unlike many other tailors we include VAT in all of our pricing so that you know exactly what you will be paying for your clothing
Do you have a fit guarantee service?
Yes, when you are personally delivered your new suit we will make any little tweaks for you to make sure that you have the finest fitting tailored clothing that you possibly can.
How do you go about taking payment?
We ask for a 50% deposit to get your suit into production and then take the balance when you are happy with your clothing.
Can I provide you with my own fabric?
Of course you can. We make a lot of Hunt coats where the Hunt has their own fabric as well as buttons so we are happy to make your clothing from any fabric that you may have.
Is there anywhere that we can come and see what you have made, feel your fabrics and ask questions?
We have a selection of clothing in a variety of styles on display in our showroom in The Market Place, Cirencester, just above Goldsmiths the jeweller and are delighted if you would like to pop in. We also have an area of our clothing, fabrics, socks and ready to wear clothing in The Gloucestershire Gun Company, in Barnsley, Gloucestershire which is open 6 days a week. We also regularly exhibit at point to points, country shows and exhibitions as well as having a stall at The Cirencester Corn Hall on the last Wednesday of each month and we would be delighted to see you and show you what we make.
If I organise an appointment at my office where many of my colleagues also buy clothing, do I get some sort of commission?
Yes. We have a referral system that means whenever someone you have put forward buys a suit from us, we will give you one of our bespoke shirts, absolutely free. It doesn't matter how many times you do this, so if you refer 10 people who all buy, we will make you 10 shirts.
If I can't see what I want on your website, can you get hold of what I am after?
We have only put a smallish selection of fabrics on the website as we have literally thousands of different fabrics to choose from, so if you don't see what you are after, please get in touch and we will see what we can do.
Can you make slightly different types of clothing? something that isn't the norm?
Since we are bespoke, we can make anything you fancy. We recently made a purple velvet coat in the exact style of Willy Wonka for a Willy Wonka themed wedding, so whatever you want, we can make it for you
What happens if I am not entirely confident with the measurements I have entered online?
Don't worry, one of our tailors looks over every order that comes in online and if anything looks slightly a miss they will get in touch via email or phone to have a chat to you about your shape and measurements. If you wish, you can send a photo of you in profile and a side photo with your order for us to look at.
What happens if I order a suit online and it needs tweaking?
That is not a problem, we can either organise a time to come and see you if this is possible or you can get it altered with a local alterations company and we will help with the cost of this. Do please contact us first so that we can discuss what needs tweaking.
Do you ever come abroad for fittings?
We do every so often go abroad to see customers and do their fittings in their home country. If you think that you have a number of people who would be interested in having some suits or clothing made by us please get in touch and we will see what we can do.
